Georges Seurat was ridiculed and critisized for his unique painting style he created. This was called pointillism. Pointillism is used by making many dots of contrasting color ina shape that resembles anything and can be seen as different close up but looks like a solid color from far away.

Seurat was an innovator into this new view of paiting. His styles began the neoclassical period. At firs, as always, People didnt like it. They werent ready for the change his painting style would bring. His most famous painting is A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. This was the show stopping peice. It was also the largest painting Seurat ever created. He was working on another show stopping painting called the circus when he died at 30.

This painting was created using pointillism. This painting created the idea of pointillism. pointillism was based off of the technique that was used currentally in that time. This was where artists would have to blend different bitsof paint together on their pallets to create the perfect shade. Rather than do that Seurat instead put little dots, seen close up, together int the sape needed to respresent whatever he was trying to portray, making the eyes create the perfect shade from far away.

Seurats style and forward thinking creted a whole new type of art. This was a beautiful thing for Marat to do. This genre is still utilyzed today.
