Esther before ahasuerus
This beautiful painting is a style before its time. it has a story behind it and so much potential for all different types of interpretations.its is with no doubt extrordinary.it has come from the early jewish time period. the artist who painted it was Artemisia Gentileschi
Artemisia Gentileschi was a woman. Women were not highly respected in those times it was quite the patriarchal society so for a wome to be a recognized painter or to learn anything about mpainting at all then she must have been either from a rich family or her dad taught her. She leaarned hwo to craft paint absolutley beautifully. whoever her techer was he did a great job.
This is an oil painting on canvas. The dark colors and overuse of shadows make the painting look like something that of a Carravagio. The dark colors and the shadows are carravagios thing. withnthis little element added many features in the photo come to life and they also help the main idea of the woemn. They take the oil based paint, spread it in the paiting palletand hten paintit on the canvas screen, this is where the term blank slate came.
This peiace is full of wonder and beauty. Every stroke was calculated just right. this is a masteriece and it is one work of art that deserves to be displayed all the time.
